Happy Holidays From Creative DirectorClaus

When the end of the year rolls around, it’s always good to open things up a bit and let creatives have a little unfettered fun. After 11 months of long hours, changing briefs, banner ads, and the general roller coaster of advertising agency life, an agency Christmas card is an enjoyable way to end the year.

We bring you Creative DirectorClaus.

This year, the younger creatives were really pro-active and brought forward a lot of good thinking. Creative DirectorClaus stood out. It was simple, fun, and great way to poke fun at an industry that can take itself wayyyy too seriously. Let’s face it, we all find ourselves breathing our own exhaust from time to time.

Once the concept was settled on, we opened the agency Christmas card assignment up to the whole staff. Not surprisingly, we got a lot of great responses– some of which sounded pretty familiar. Quotes like:

“Ho, ho, ho. Brilliant! But I’m not sure it has legs.”

“Ho, ho, ho. I like the thought here… but what’s the idea?”

“Ho, ho, ho. I didn’t steal your idea, I borrowed it!”

“Ho, ho, ho. I don’t want to poke holes in your concept, but that’s my job.”

“Ho, ho, ho. Check the kerning again.”

“Ho, ho, ho. We really need to break down the silos to create organic, screen agnostic, brand symmetry. Or something…”

It seems everybody has heard a creative director wax a little too poetic about how smart, handsome and outstanding they are (for the work, of course.)
